Service Description
Whether you are preparing for your first hive or looking to build your confidence as a beekeeper, Norfolk Bees provides practical one-to-one mentoring tailored to your experience. Sessions can cover: • preparing for your first colony • choosing suitable equipment • hive inspections • reading brood frames • locating and assessing the queen • understanding colony behaviour • swarm prevention • seasonal hive management • feeding and winter preparation • honey production • bee welfare • general beekeeping questions Tristan’s approach is calm, practical and grounded in real experience with honey bee colonies. The aim is not simply to tell people what to do, but to help them understand what the bees are showing them and build the confidence to make informed decisions. Mentoring is suitable for: • complete beginners • prospective beekeepers • new beekeepers • existing beekeepers seeking reassurance • people returning to beekeeping after a break No previous experience is required. Location: Norfolk Bees apiary or the client’s apiary, by prior agreement. Note: The final location will be agreed after booking. Travel outside the usual Norfolk Bees service area may incur an additional charge, which will always be discussed in advance.
